The perfect natural lipstick can make any woman go from feeling feeble to fierce. Yet, there is nothing more frustrating than having to spend the day repeatedly checking to see if your lip colour has faded, bled or worse ended up on your teeth (eek!). So we have created a tutorial how to make lipstick last, to make sure your lipstick is smudge-proof and gorgeous all day.
Step 1: Exfoliate
Preparation is key for making you lipstick last . You will first need to exfoliate your lips to get rid of any flaky or dried skin. This step can be quick, easy and cheap. All you really need is an old toothbrush or a warm, wet cloth, which you should rub gently across your lips.
Step 2: Hydrate
Apply a light coating of mint balm to hydrate your lips. A hydrating lip balm can act as a primer to help make your lip makeup last much longer.
Step 3: Line the Lips
Choose a natural lip liner that is as close as possible to the colour of your chosen lipstick. Start by outlining your lips then filling them with your lip liner. This will help prevent your lipstick from bleeding and ensure a long lasting lip colour.
Expert Tip: Our Suede Matte Crayons and Cream Glaze Crayons don't need a lip liner. The Cream Glaze Crayon is an all-in-one pencil, gloss and lipstick combination, delivering a high-shine finish. Whilst the Suede Matte Crayon is a convenient matte lipstick pencil combination for long-lasting matte lips. For precision on the lip line, sharpen your preferred lip crayon to a point for careful placement and a clean lip line.
Step 4: Use the Right Tools
For an even application, it is recommended you use a brush to apply a lipstick. However, throughout the day/night, quickly re-touching with a lip crayon or straight from the tube is fine.
Step 5: Grab the Concealer
If you want to make sure the outline of your lips are clean and crisp, use a natural concealer and a flat brush like the Camouflage Brush to define and clean up the edges.
So there you have it! A quick and easy guide for how to keep your lipstick on all day.
