Often people will make new year resolutions to eat healthier or exercise more...but how about making your skin healthier? Skincare and beauty it just as important in our opinion, which is why we have come up with some resolutions to improve your beauty routine for the new year. Ideally, you'd pick up all these resolutions and become a skincare guru in your own right. However, if you're known for being a bit indifferent to your skin, why not pick a beauty resolution or two that you're sure you can stick to then build and improve your routine from there! Make a Beauty Resolution for the New Year

Beauty Resolution 1: I will get rid of my expired products

We're sorry to say this but skincare and makeup products do not last forever! You may be proud of your huge beauty collection but that probably means a lot of your products go unused. We recommend going through your collection once every six months and clearing out everything that you don't use or has expired. A great little trick is to write the date you opened each product directly on the package so you'll know when it's time to bin it Learn more about when to replace your products.

Beauty Resolution 2: I will moisturise twice a day

Regardless of whether you have oily, dry or combination skin, you need to moisturise! Moisturising day and night support's your skin's natural process of restoration, repair and rehydration.

Beauty Resolution 3: I will use a face mask at least once a week

Using a mask is great for your skin. It can give your skin an instant boost and revival. As the week's pass, you will see more and more of a difference in how much fresher and more radiant your skin looks. Plus, face masks are a great way to relax and treat yourself a little. Put your feet up with a cup of tea while you let the mask work its magic!

Beauty Resolution 4: I will exfoliate up to 3 times a week

Exfoliating removes debris and dead skin cells, to help your skin properly absorb your skincare products. It helps promote cell turnover, to leave your skin looking younger and healthier. Say goodbye to dull, lack-lustre skin!

Beauty Resolution 5: I will wear sunscreen year-round

I'm not sure how many times we have to say it, but seriously, sunscreen must be worn daily! Whether rain or shine, UV rays can still penetrate and damage the skin, so apply your SPF thoroughly!

Beauty Resolution 6: I will wash my makeup brushes regularly

Washing your makeup brushes may be tedious but it's a necessity! If you use dirty brushes you're exposing your skin to bacteria, irritation and possible infection! What's more, regularly washing your makeup brushes will extend their lifespan, and so save you money in the long run. Find out more about the whys and hows of cleaning your makeup brushes. Beauty Resolution 7: I will not get lazy and leave my makeup on overnight

If don't cleanse your skin and just leave your makeup on when you go to bed, you're not just clogging your skin but also preventing it from its natural nightly process of repair. By leaving makeup on overnight you are actually risking premature ageing, as your skin is unable to properly work and stay healthy.
