What is Kojic Acid?
To cut a long story short, Kojic Acid is a fantastic brightening ingredient to treat hyperpigmentation. It is a safe and effective skin brightener that absorbs into the skin and stops melanin production by inhibiting tyrosinase; an enzyme that plays a key role in the production of melanin. It is ideal for targeting melasma, acne scars and other dark spots.
Where can I find Kojic Acid?
Kojic Acid can be found in glo-therapeutics
Brightening Polish and
Lightening Serum.
The
Brightening Polish is ideal for hyperpigmentation and dull skin. It sloughs away dead skin cells to reveal smoother skin and help glo-therapeutics
Brightening Serum and
moisturiser to better penetrate the dermis. Use up to five times per week by massaging a small amount onto clean, damp skin. Rinse face clean after 5-10 minutes.
Our best-selling
Lightening Serum is a powerful brightener. It battles hyperpigmentation with a highly effective combination of lighteners, melanin inhibitors and mild exfoliants. It includes not just Kojic Acid but Azelaic Acid, 2% Salicylic Acid, 2% Hydroquinone and 5% Lactic Acid, too! Use a small amount of
Lightening Serum twice daily for 6 months for optimal skin brightening results. After 6 months, we recommend you wait 1-2 months before resuming use of this serum again. Apply this serum after
cleansing and
toning and then follow with a
glo-therapeutics moisturiser.
REMEMBER: The Hydroxy Acids in this product may increase skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, so be sure to wear a factor 30 SPF daily, especially while using these treatments.
