Why do you need eye primer?

Eye primer is also known as eye shadow primer, which is a big clue in what people use it for. It helps maintain the appearance of eye shadow for the whole day, so you won't be running off to reapply it, and it also helps to stop creasing. Eye primer can be used with either eye shadow or liquid eyeliner

It is important to note that an eye primer is not the same as a primer for face in general. Eye primer is specifically made for use around your eyes, and therefore contains different ingredients and has a slightly different texture. One of the big differences is that face primers generally contain a lot of water which smooths out the product and helps it cover more ground. Eye primers, on the other hand, need to stick in one area without moving around.

Mineral primer benefits

Perhaps the most noticeable benefit of a natural eye primer is that it helps maintain the look of eye shadow or eyeliner throughout the day and in to the evening without reapplication. Eye primers also help to prevent some other undesired outcomes such as creasing on the eyelid or smudging. This type of product can also help maintain your eyeliner flick or wing much better than a regular face primer or using no primer at all.

The other benefits of a natural eye primer are a little less immediate, but you will notice and appreciate them over the long run. For example, here at Glo Skin Beauty we use various botanicals, minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins to nourish your skin. These ingredients may include green tea extract, vitamins A, C, and E, as well as oils from helpful seeds and flowers that are known to help the skin.

How to use eye primer

  • Start fresh: Eye primer should be applied before other makeup, so get washed and dry and you're ready to go.
  • Use a small amount: Particularly for your first time, you should only use a small amount on your fingertip and apply it in the desired area depending on whether you're doing shadow or liner, above or below the eye, or both.
  • Blend it: Use a brush to blend the primer evenly over the desired area. You can use a concealer brush for this.

Wait: Give it a couple of minutes before you apply shadow or liner on top of the primer so that it has a chance to create a better base.
